About the Author

Jim Stavis was diagnosed with juvenile type I diabetes when he was 17 years old. He was told to expect a shortened life expectancy with medical difficulties along the way. This medical diagnosis shaped his life in ways that could have led to depression and decadence, but instead motivated Jim to rise above adversity despite dire predictions. It was the lessons learned and the persistent, positive attitude that inspired Jim to write his aptly named first book, “When Hope Is Your Only Option”. Jim is happy to share his stories so the reader can learn and be better prepared for the adversity he encounters in his life.
